  • We will travel to any event for free within 30km radius of Methven, travel charges apply for events outside of this area.

  • The Thirsty Caravan does not have a license to sell alcohol. All beverages are to be provided by you, the event organiser, and any liquor licenses, if required.

  • Yes! We have friendly staff that will provide you with an exceptional drinks service. However The Thirsty Caravan is very flexible, and providing you have a secure venue you also have the option to staff her yourself.

  • We have a power cord on board and can connect to any standard power source. Alternatively, we have a generator available for hire if a power connection is not available.

  • She's a petite wee thing, weighing in at about 4.5m in length (including the draw bar) and 2m wide. You need to ensure that there is clear access, and the site is on hard flat ground.

  • The Thirsty Caravan has a bar fridge that can hold 170 beer bottles or 250 cans or 60 bottles of wine. It also has a large sink in the serving counter in which we fill with ice and place drinks. It holds about 20 bottles of beer. We strongly reccommend pre-chilling your drinks before your event or depending on your number of guests it may be advisable to hire a chiller trailer to store the rest of your drinks in during service. If you are purchasing your drinks from a local liquor store ask them if they have a complimentary chiller trailer that you can use.

  • We do not have a keg system but we can do cocktails and we can work with you to decide on what to serve your guests.

  • All drinks service takes place from The Thirsty Caravan. However empty glassware & bottles will be collected.​

  • The Thirsty Caravan will stay for the length of time of the hire package you book.

  • No, this is responsibility of the hirer. You will need to have somewhere for us to empty the bottles and any refuse into when The Thirsty Caravan is packed up to go home.

  • Once all the details have been discussed via email we will send you an invoice and a hire agreement. A 25% deposit is required to secure your date . This is non-refundable should you decide to cancel your booking. The remaining balance is due 14 days prior to your event. This is also non-refundable should you cancel your booking after payment has been made. We do not provide refunds in the case of event cancellation due to bad weather, in which case it is the responsibility of the hirer to let us know at least 3 hours prior to commencement of the event.

  • The Thirsty Caravan can be set up in most places, however we do request that you seek permission from the venue or the land owners prior to making your booking. If your event is being held on a public site, you must obtain any relevant council permissions or permits and provide this in writing before your booking is confirmed. All licences required by your venue must be obtained by you, be sure to check with your venue if you are uncertain. Any damage to the Thirsty Caravan must be paid for, your credit card details will be taken at the time of booking, and charged in the incase of non-payment of any damages.
